Silver and Black Dye have spiked quite a bit as well, along with some of the lower end dyes that are creeping up. All these new people crafting armour is really making some of us a bundle of gold.

Alot of people are farming materials and selling them now, it's quite profitable. I think the prices will only remain high for a few more days only. Farmers will push the prices down fast. If you know the right area to farm, you can get materials very quickly.

I'm not sure if you even understood what you were saying LOLZZZZZzz.
You were refering to the prices dropping 50g in the traders?
Or who knows what you were talking about with such a vague statement. ;'[

I could sell my material for 190g x10 TO the merchant.
5 minutes later same material 140g x 10.
That was pretty obvious when I said selling to merchant.

I'm watching the vials of ink with $$$ in my eyes. About 2 months ago I got 2000 of them. Right now they are going for 220 to the merchant

They can say that its player driven but I think they step in too much.

I probably did that. I've been anticipating the craze for new armors for a while now. About 2 months ago, I started saving up about 80% of all the materials I farmed. I had about 3-4K of every heavily used common material. Last night I got sick of trying to sell to players and just started dumping the higher priced common materials at the material trader. I think I might have made some of the materials drop in price like that over the time span of 5 minutes. Or maybe it was someone else who did the exact same thing. You just happened to be watching when that happened.

I have sold material and Rare material at a sencible price and made a killing today, if merc. buy's at 10g and sell's at 20g I sold for 15g, that way everyone made a good deal. Sold out items I sold at full price of course.
Made about 150K today on material alone, all saved up during last month, and all the weapon collectors went crazy having to pay 350g for steel(lol) at the same time they try to sell some rare sword for ??? K
I love it at last the usefull stuff in the game is bringin in some cash

While I do understand why people are upset about the NPC traders running out of materials, I must say that is why we have salvage kits. Throughout my Guild Wars play time (9months) I have always caried an ID kit and a salvage kit( usually expert or superior). I currently have 1 charachter that is my 'mule', which is full of craft materials that I salvaged. Cloth, iron, feather, dust, plant fiber, bone, leather, linen, silk, damask, wood, steel, etc, etc, etc. It is a player driven market. If players doint sell to the NPCs they have none in stock. So get a salvage kit and go rom there.

Which is exactly what happened when Prophecies opened. This is NOT something new. It`s the way the games played. If you need something, pony up or salvage it. The prices will stabilize then drop and a whole new group of people will come here bitching because they can only get 100g for 54000 wood.

The material prices vary according to weekend/weekdays and currently, according to new armor. If you have prophecies, you'd have enough money/materials (or means of getting materials) to get the new armor. If you have factions only... the amount of money you get per quest/from drops is amazing. And yes, it sux that materials are expensive, however, with a bit of patience and a salvage/expert salvage kit, you don't have to buy materials at that price.

It's just inflation caused by the new game buzz. Prices will start to sink over the next couple of months and things will be back to normal in no time.
I have 730+ clothe and 500+ hide along with 200+ Steel and 500 ink. I could make a bundle now, but I'm too lazy.
I did however sell of my black dye collection (don't use the color much anyway) which brought in over 100k.
